The Stanthorpe region experienced devastating bushfires in September 2019 brought about by severe drought conditions and faced further due to COVID-19. With these events causing big impacts to the community, the Stanthorpe region is now looking forward to coming together and showcasing their vibrant agricultural community at the Stanthorpe Show.
The Stanthorpe Show will be staged on 29 January and Stanthorpe has the honour of being the first agricultural show for the Queensland show year.
The Queensland Bushfire Appeal has funded $40,000 to assist the Stanthorpe Agricultural Society in launching the annual agricultural show this month.
The event will help build community connections and the show contributes to the local economy by promoting the important agricultural sector. After a tough 18 months, the local show volunteers can’t wait, “it’s one of the ‘normal’ things we do, everyone in town wants to meet up at the show”.
Our valued project partner the Australian Lions Foundation has come onboard to help facilitate this important community project for Stanthorpe.
